Made for three kinds of employer

Each one has a public register, a legal duty to check it, and no easy way to keep checking after someone is hired.

Electrical, plumbing, HVAC and crane contractors

Compulsory trades need a valid Certificate of Qualification or a registered apprenticeship. We check the Skilled Trades Ontario register. STO confirmed in writing that these checks may run.

Licensed child care operators

Funding and licensing depend on RECEs staying in good standing with the College, and the College doesn't tell employers when that changes. We check the College's public register.

Security guard agencies

The agency is on the hook when a guard works on an expired or suspended licence. We check the Ontario private security licence registry.

How it works

Send a list once. From then on it just happens.

  1. Send your list

Names, plus ID or registration numbers where you have them. A spreadsheet is fine.

  2. We check the register

Each person is looked up on the official register, one at a time, the same way you would by hand.

  3. You get the record

A dated record and a short list of anything to look at: expired, suspended, not found, or expiring within 60 days.

  4. Repeat every month

Anything that changed since last time is called out. Nothing to remember.

Simple pricing

Less than an hour of admin time a month. Change or cancel by email.

$49 / month

Contractors and agencies, up to 25 people. $99 up to 100, $199 up to 300.

$25 / site / month

Child care operators. Minimum $50, never more than $500 however many sites.

Free for 60 days

No card. Keep the records either way. Stop any time by replying to an email.

Questions people ask

We already track renewal dates. Isn't that enough?

It catches most things. It doesn't catch a suspension, a revocation or new terms placed on someone partway through the year, and "we would probably hear about it" isn't something you can show an inspector or a funder. A dated monthly check is.

Is this allowed?

The registers are public and exist so employers can verify credentials. Skilled Trades Ontario confirmed in writing that these checks may run. We look up only your own people, one at a time, and never copy or republish a register.

What happens to my list?

It stays in a private store only you and we can see. It is never sold, shared or pooled with other customers, and it is deleted within 30 days of you asking.

Can I rely on it?

We record what the register said on the day. Registers can be late or wrong, so confirm with the regulator before acting on a result that matters. Deciding who may work stays with you.

Who is behind this?

Joshua Panko, in Ontario. One person, building it with the people who use it. Reply to any email and you get him.
